Hilton Weiner boosts turnover
Date: 1995/08/26

UPMARKET clothing chain Hilton Weiner is showing signs of healthy turnover, albeit off a small base.
Marcel Joubert, who bought Hilton Weiner from the Bergers group in January, said July sales were up 82 percent on the same rnonth last year for the 15 stores around the country.
"Although last. year was admittedly a low base, gains of this magnitude are nonetheless very encouraging."
The rnanagement team at Mr Joubert's Vertigo clothing had taken over the Hilton Weiner stores "in the face of a near crisis situation", he said.
The Vertigo rnanagement was committed to improving every aspect of the operations, the clothing, and the in store experience".

The head office and all the stores have been fully computerised. and this has provided a complete analysis of goods sold and ensured tighter' stock control.
The company's head office will soon move closer to the Vertigo factory. The new location will house a fully computerised distribution centre to take over distribution formerly run by Bergers.
The newly opened Hyde Park store in Johannesburg has had a fantastic response so far and is positioned perfectly to do well over the seen", Mr Joubert. said.
