A class of their own

JENNI BUTTON: Creative director and chief designer Warrick Gautier turned out the most sensational collection of the sexiest lace, figure-hugging suits, nude and diaphanous beaded dresses from silk and chiffon, and wonderful leather jackets.

KLOK by MALCOLM KLOK: A restrained collection in black, white, bronze, gold, silver and dove-grey, packed full of pieces that every woman should own as a matter of course ~ like the linen tuxedo jacket, lace dress, full-circle skirt and metallic-wrap cocktail dress with ruffle.

PORT by CRAIG PORT: An expert blend of inspiration from both Capri and Cape Town made this witty, resort-inspired men's wear collection marvellous.

ROSENWORTH: While Gabi Rosenworth's work may not be as glam as her mother Elzbieta's once was, this remains a beautifully constructed collection. The modern additions of soft, silk chiffon, bubble gum pink and acid-green dresses with asymmetrical floaty hems were divine.

CGOT: Christiaan Gabriel du Toit's second solo show had less impact than his first but still lived up to the hype. Although inspired by the 1970s and 1980s, the fashion style of Prince and the movie Kill Bill, this cognac, watermelon, copper and red collection was a welcome respite from the white, turquoise and fuchsia brigade.

HABITS: Jenny Le Roux is still the queen of setting the scene with her old-fashioned musical clips. This season, pink - think blush to Schiaparelli - was the inspiration, but I still believe that Habits carries the finest white collection each season. Best look? The blazer jacket and ball gown skirt combo.
